ATLÉTICO OTTAWA
JUNIORS
Introducing AOJ Futsal — a new program for our U5 and U9 grassroots players. Futsal is a fast-paced version of soccer played indoors on a smaller court with a smaller, low-bounce ball.
The game encourages players to get lots of touches, make quick decisions and build confidence with the ball. We’re excited to bring this first-of-its-kind program to our AOJ community and help young players learn, play and grow through futsal.

Futsal is a form of soccer played on a court. Through futsal, players will learn the basic skills of football while developing their technical, physical and social skills in a fun and supportive environment. Each weekly one-hour session combines skill-building exercises with small-sided games.
Players are grouped by age and gender and rotate through activities, giving them exposure to multiple coaches and different aspects of the game.Sessions begin with small-sided games, followed by two technical stations, and finish with another game-based activity where players can put their skills into practice.
Sessions overseen by one of our senior staff and run by our most talented senior youth coaches. The coaches are trained through Canada Soccer, and guided/supervised by our academy staff coaches. Our leaders are the most aspiring coaches at the club, but are also the beginning of their journey. If you are interested in helping as a coach, click here to visit our Careers and Coaching page.
